Dates Set For Chamber's Annual Montgomery Trip
In Scottsboro, Jackson County, AL., The Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce has scheduled their annual trip to Montgomery for April 9-10, 2019. A briefing with several state officials is planned as well as meetings with Senator Steve Livingston and Representatives Tommy Hanes, Ritchie Whorton and Nathaniel Ledbetter. In additions to those meetings, a joint lunch with the 2019 Leadership Jackson County class is also planned.
“The Chamber is excited to attend our annual Montgomery Drive-In,” said Dylan Smith, Vice-Chair of Public Policy and Advocacy. “Each year the Chamber invites members of our community and gives them a chance to meet with our legislative delegation and discuss policy matters that are of importance to them. We would like to encourage all those who are interested to join us and take part in engaging with our elected officials. The Chamber is looking forward to advocating for our policy agenda that promotes growth and development of our local economy.”
“It is very important for the business community to communicate with our elected officials the needs and concerns of business and industry in Jackson County,” said Stacy Ledwell, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “This is a great opportunity for business leaders to travel with us to Montgomery to meet with state officials and our Jackson County Delegation.”
The legislative trip is being presented by the Public Policy and Advocacy Initiative of Gateway to the Future, the Chamber’s Fire-Year Community and Economic Development Program. Sponsorship for this event is provided by the City of Scottsboro, Redstone Federal Credit Union and Unclaimed Baggage Center.
