Want to Travel to Montgomery With Us?

Montgomery Alabama Trip

Every year, we visit our state legislation delegation and we would love for you to join us for our 2019 trip!

One of the many public responsibilities that we hold dear is our task to maintain good relationships with both our state and congressional delegates in order to facilitate opportunities for you to discuss issues that are important to you.

That’s exactly what this trip to Montgomery is all about, and we welcome the community to join us during this annual chance to get in front of state leaders to talk out matters that directly effect you or your business.

On the morning of April 9th we will pull out of Scottsboro and head to Montgomery where we will start our day meeting with the Jackson County Adult Leadership Class for lunch.

Next, we will head to the Business Center of Alabama for a series of briefings that will take place in thirty minute increments, with the following presenters:

  1. John Copper, Director of ALDOT

  2. Katie Britt, President/CEO at the Business Council of Alabama & Richard Shelby’s former C.O.S.

  3. Jo Bonner, Chief of Staff for Governor Kay Ivey & a former Mobile Congressman

  4. Will Ainsworth, the New Lieutenant Governor

  5. Greg Canfield, Secretary of Commerce

We are working to coordinate an evening reception at Central, in downtown Montgomery at 5:30PM, followed by a dinner at 7:00PM with our legislative delegates.

On the morning of April 10th, we are scheduled to meet with Steve Livingston, Tommy Hanes, Richie Whorton and Nathaniel Ledbetter for a regional update and open forum discussion.

Finally, we will break for lunch and head back home where we plan to pull back into Scottsboro at approximately 5:00PM.

The estimated cost to attend is approximately $350 per guest, and anyone interested in going with us should call the Chamber at 800-259-5508 or 256-259-5500 or email Rick Roden at roden@scottsboro.org.
