The rural Chamber now boasts a 600+ member roster to back up the innovative programing they continue to build towards. “We see a bright future for Jackson County and work to be the voice of progress in our hometown business community,” says President/CEO Rick Roden. “Our Chamber team lives by this slogan and will continue to market the high-quality business environment here in Jackson County.”

Last week, in partnership with Jimmy Cusano CEO of Your Chamber Connection, 50+ Chamber volunteers worked to bring in 123 new members in less than 8 hours. Then, over the next two days, 29 more new members joined, landing the business community with 152 new members.

The rural membership drive featured growth volume in which other chambers only dream, and the Chamber has their member-based volunteers to thank for that!  Dubbed the Godfather and Godmother of the program by Mr. Cusano, Mayor Bubba and Tina Hughes along with their Bridgeport based team did an unbelievable job by single-handedly bringing in 62 new members and winning 1st Place!!

The Scottsboro Electric Power Board team recruited by far the most volunteers and it certainly showed!  They came in second behind the red team (Mayor Hughes). “It wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers,” says Roden and we want to give a special thanks to the following Board members who helped us break 600 members for the first time in the Chamber’s history: Vicki Watts, Barry Hughes, Jim Barclay, Karen Suggs, Larry Becker, Heather Garner, Monica Davis, Allen Keller, Laura Pitts And thanks to the IMPACT Learning Center (Cathy Mitchell, Beverly Allen and Carolyn Deerman) for being our runners, responsible for picking up checks and hand delivering new member packets.

By gaining 152 new members, resulting in 33% growth in just 3 days, the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce proved three very important facts: They have the absolute BEST volunteers; they are officially the fastest growing Chamber of Commerce in the state of Alabama; and they know how to pick the right partnerships to help make their growth plans a reality!

"It's great to go out and raise money to be able to continue the work we do in the community. But more importantly, I'm excited about the opportunity for 50+ local volunteers to get the chance to learn the details of how our Chamber impacts businesses in our region." - Rick Roden President/CEO at The Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce

Now that 152 New Members pledged a Total amount of $ 42,012.00 retention is key. The chamber staff will continue to work hard in the coming years to prove their value to their ever-expanding membership base in hopes to maintain their status as the fastest growing chamber in Alabama. Here are a few ways they work to do just that:

Member Features, access to the local retail/restaurant delivery app Go Native to allow local businesses to compete with Amazon, participate in marketing/business classes at a reduced rate, ribbon cuttings that celebrate new business, a member center which gives members the chance to win FREE advertising, small business health insurance, along with a variety of business support depending on member needs.

If you’ve been thinking of joining the Chamber, there is no better time than now! #JacksonUp
